Author Guidelines

PETUNJUK PENULIS
Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu (JKM) merupakan majalah publikasi ilmiah yang terbit secara berkala oleh Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau. Jurnal ini menerima tulisan/ artikel berupa penelitian asli yang relevan dengan bidang kedokteran dan kesehatan, tinjauan pustaka, laporan kasus, dengan ketentuan sebagai berikut:

1. Artikel Penelitian
Berisi artikel mengenai hasil penelitian asli dalam ilmu kedokteran dasar atau terapan/klinis serta kesehatan. Format artikel penelitian terdiri atas judul, abstrak (Indonesia dan Inggris), pendahuluan, metode, hasil, diskusi, simpulan dan daftar pustaka.

2. Tinjauan Pustaka
Merupakan kaji ulang artikel (review) mengenai masalah ilmu kedokteran dan kesehatan mutakhir. Format tinjauan pustaka terdiri atas judul, abstrak (Indonesia dan Inggris), pendahuluan, isi, simpulan, dan daftar pustaka.

3. Laporan Kasus
Berisi artikel tentang kasus dalam bidang ilmu kedokteran dan kesehatan yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian untuk disebarluaskan. Format laporan kasus terdiri atas judul, abstrak (Indonesia dan Inggris), pendahuluan, kasus, diskusi, dan daftar pustaka.

Petunjuk Umum
Untuk menghindari duplikasi, JKM tidak menerima artikel yang sudah dipublikasikan atau sedang diajukan kepada majalah lain, dengan menandatangani SUBMISSION FORM. Penulis harus memastikan bahwa seluruh penulis pembantu telah menyetujui. Semua artikel akan
dibahas oleh para pakar dalam bidang keilmuan yang sesuai (peer-review) dan dewan redaksi. Artikel yang perlu perbaikan dikembalikan kepada penulis. Artikel penelitian harus memperoleh persetujuan komite etik atau mempertimbangkan aspek etika penelitian yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan.

Penulisan Artikel
Artikel diketik mengikuti template jKM. Artikel dikirimkan dalam
bentuk softcopy dalam MICROSOFT WORD. Terdapat 2 jenis template yaitu TEMPLATE ORIGINAL DAN REVIEW ARTICLE, dan TEMPLATE CASE REPORT.

Halaman Judul
Halaman judul berisi judul artikel, nama penulis tanpa gelar, lembaga afiliasi penulis, nama dan alamat korespondensi, nomor telepon, nomor faksimili, serta alamat e-mail. Judul artikel maksimal 14 kata.

Abstrak dan Kata Kunci
Abstrak untuk artikel penelitian, tinjauan pustaka, dan laporan kasus dibuat dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris, terdiri dari 150 – 250 kata. Abstrak dibuat ringkas dan jelas sesuai dengan format introduction, methods, results, and kesimpulan. Pilih 3-5 kata kunci yang dapat
membantu penyusunan indeks.

Teks Artikel
Teks artikel disusun menurut bab yang sesuai, yaitu pendahuluan, metode, hasil, diskusi, simpulan.

Gambar
Gambar dibuat di halaman tersendiri setelah daftar pustaka. Gambar orang yang mungkin dapat dikenali atau ilustrasi yang pernah dipublikasi harus disertai izin tertulis. Gambar harus diberi nomor urut sesuai dengan pemunculan dalam teks. Jumlah tabel dan gambar maksimal 4 buah.

Tabel
Tabel dibuat di halaman tersendiri setalah halaman gambar. Tabel dibuat berurutan dan diketik 1 spasi. Setiap tabel harus diberi judul singkat. Tempatkan penjelasan dan singkatan pada keterangan tabel, bukan pada judul tabel. Jumlah tabel maksimal 3 buah. Format tabel hanya menggunakan garis horizontal (vertikal dihilangkan), dengan memperhatikan kelompok-kelompok data yang perlu dipisahkan dengan

garis.
Metode Statistik
Jelaskan metode statistik secara rinci pada bagian metode.

Ucapan Terima Kasih
Ucapan terima kasih dapat diberikan kepada kontributor penelitian.
Konflik Kepentingan Dituliskan bila ada. Penulis harus mengisi COI_DISCLOSURE dan diunggah bersamaan dengan submisi artikel.

Daftar Pustaka
Rujukan ditulis sesuai aturan penulisan Vancouver, diberi nomor urut sesuai dengan pemunculan dalam artikel, bukan menurut abjad. Cantumkan nama penulis maksimal 6 orang, apabila lebih, tulis nama 6 orang pertama, selanjutnya et al. Jumlah rujukan minimal
10 buah dan maksimal 30 buah dari 10 tahun terakhir.
Rujukan diupayakan dari kepustakaan primer, sesedikit mungkin kepustakaan sekunder. Hindarkan penggunaan abstrak sebagai rujukan. Rujukan dari artikel yang akan diterbitkan oleh majalah tertentu harus ditulis “in press”. Hindarkan rujukan berupa komunikasi pribadi (personal communication) kecuali untuk informasi yang tidak mungkin diperoleh dari sumber umum. Cantumkan nama sumber, tanggal komunikasi, izin tertulis, dan konfirmasi ketepatan sumber komunikasi.
Contoh cara menuliskan rujukan:
1. Standard journal article Up to six authors, list all the authors.

  • Boyle A, Todd C. Incidence and prevalence of domestic violence in a UK emergency department. Emerg Med J. 2003;20(5):438–43.

More than six authors, list the first six authors, followed by et al.

Cara Pengiriman Artikel
Penulis men-submit secara online:
1. Penulis melakukan register apabila belum terdaftar.

  • Isilah data yang dibutuhkan.
  • Klik “author dan reviewer”

2. Cek email penulis untukmemastikan telah teregistrasi.
3. Login pada laman situs Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu.
4. Upload Manuskrip artikel sesuai template.
5. Isi lah “ENTER META DATA”
6. Unggah supplementary data:

  • Mengunggah SUBMISSION FORM.
  • Mengunggah COI_DISCLOSURE

7. Konfirmasi

Mohon untuk mengecek spam apabila setelah register atau setelah submisi artikel, tidak terdapat email balasan dari Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu (JKM). Apabila email balasan terdapat di dalam spam, maka selanjutnya klik email dari JKM sebagai “bukan spam”

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
1. Artikel adalah hasil karya asli bukan merupakan penjiplakan dari sumber manapun baik yang dipublikasikan maupun yang tidak dipublikasikan.
2. Tidak pernah dipublikasikan sebelumnya atau akan dipublikasikan di media cetak dan/atau online lain
3. Telah mendapat persetujuan dari semua penulis.
4. Isi tulisan tersebut sepenuhnya menjadi tanggung jawab penulis.
5. Telah mendapat persetujuan komite etik atau mempertimbangkan aspek etika penelitian yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan.
6. tidak keberatan artikel tersebut diedit oleh dewan redaksi/ penyunting sepanjang tidak mengubah maksud dan isi artikel.
7. Tulisan tersebut kami serahkan ke tim e-jurnal Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau untuk diproses dan dipublikasikan di Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu, dan tidak akan kami tarik kembali.
8. Tulisan telah ditulis mengikuti TEMPLATE Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu, dalam Microsoft Word.

 

AUTHOR'S GUIDE

Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu (JKM) is a periodical scientific publications by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau. This journal receives original articles of research that are relevant to the field of medicine and health, literature review, case reports, with the following conditions:
1. Research Articles
Are original research in the field of basic or applied medical science, as well as clinical studies. The format of research articles consists of titles, abstracts (Indonesian and English), introductions, methods, results, discussions, conclusions and bibliography.
2. Literature Review.
Is a review of articles on current medical science and health issues. The literature review format consists of titles, abstracts (Indonesian and English), introduction, content, conclusions, and bibliography.
3. Case Report
Contains articles describing cases in the field of medical and health science that need attention to be disseminated. The case report format consists of title, abstract (Indonesian and English), introduction, case, discussion, and bibliography.

General Instructions
In order to avoid duplication, JKM does not accept articles that have been published or are being submitted to other magazines, by signing SUBMISSION FORM. The author must ensure that all of the supporting authors have agreed with the submission. All articles will be discussed by peer-reviewed experts and the editorial board. Articles that need improvement will be returned to the authors. Research articles must obtain the approval of the ethics committee or consider the ethical aspects of research that can be accounted for.

Organization of the manuscript

The submitted article must follow the JKM template. Articles must be submitted as MICROSOFT WORD FILES. There are 2 types of templates: TEMPLATE FOR ORIGINAL AND REVIEW ARTICLE and TEMPLATE FOR CASE REPORT.

Title page

The title page contains the title of the article, the name of the authors without the title, the author's affiliate institution, the name and correspondence address, phone number, facsimile number, and e-mail address. Article title is a maximum of 14 words.

Abstracts and Keywords

Abstracts for research articles, literature reviews, and case reports must be written in Indonesian and English, consisting of 150-250 words. Abstract should be concise and clear according to the format of introduction, methods, results, and conclusion. Choose 3-5 keywords that can help with indexing.
    1. Article Text
The text of the article is organized according to the appropriate chapter, ie introduction, method, result, discussion, conclusion.

2. Picture
Images are created on separate pages after the bibliography. Image taken from recognizable persons or published illustrations should be accompanied by written permission. The image should be numbered according to the appearance in the text. A maximum of 4 tables and/or pictures is allowed.

3. Table
Tables are created on separate pages after the image page. The table is ordered in sequence and typed single-spaced. Each table should be shortened. Please place annotations and abbreviations on table descriptions instead of on table titles. A maximum of 3 tables is allowed. The tables are formatted as follows: use only horizontal lines (omit vertical lines), taking into account the data groups that need to be separated by lines.

Statistical Method
Describe detailed statistical methods in the method section.

Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments can be given to research contributors.

Conflict of Interest
Written if any. The author must sign the COI_DISCLOSURE and submit it along with the article.

Bibliography
References are written in accordance with the Vancouver writing rules, numbered as they appear in the articles, not alphabetically. Write the author's name up to 6 people, if more, write the name of the first 6 people, then followed by et al. A minimum of 10 references and a maximum of 30 references from the last 10 years are allowed.
References should be from primary sourse instead of secondary literature. Abstracts can not be used as references. References that are in the process of publication should be written "in press".
Please avoid use references in the form of personal communication except for information that is not possible from a public source. Include source’s name, date of communication, written permission, and confirmation of the accuracy of the communication.

Here are some example of how references must be written:
1. Standard journal article

Authors submit online:
1. The author need to register if has not registered yet.
a. Fill in the required data.
b. Click "author and reviewer"
2. Check the author's email to make sure it has been registered.
3. Login on the Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu.
4. Upload Manuscript articles according to the template.
5. Fill in the "ENTER META DATA"
6. Upload supplementary data:
a. Upload SUBMISSION FORM.
b. Uploading COI_DISCLOSURE

7. Confirmation

Please check spam if after registration or after submission of article, there is no reply from Jurnal Kesehatan Melayu (JKM). If the reply is within the spam, then mark it as "not spam"

Manuscript submission is free of charge.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to comply the submission requirements with all of the following items. Failure to do so will result the manuscript will be sent back to authors.
1. Articles are original work, free from plagiarism from any source either published or unpublished.
2. Article has not been published or will be published in other journals / or online media
3. It has been approved by all authors.
4. The contents of the article are entirely the responsibility of the author.
5. It has been approved by the ethics committee and consider the ethical aspects of research.
6. There is no objection to the article being edited by the editorial board/editor as long as it does not change the intent and content of the article.
7. The article will be sent to the e-journals team of Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau to be processed and published in JKM. Article withdrawl is not allowed .
8. The manuscript has been written according to JKM’s TEMPLATE as Microsoft Word file.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
